HCAI transactions are being processed well. (If you experience slowdowns when HCAI is in a green state, this may be a result of issues outside of the HCAI system, such as issues with your Internet connection.)

What is HCAI?

Health Claims for Auto Insurance (HCAI) is an electronic system for transmitting auto insurance health claim forms between insurers and health care facilities in Ontario.

Accessing HCAI

The health care section of this website is organized to give you information based on how your health care facility (HCF), i.e., your health practice or health clinic, will be accessing the HCAI system.

To get the information most relevant to you, click on whichever of the following best describes the way your HCF (health clinic/practice) connects to HCAI:

  • Web Access
You connect to HCAI through the internet.
  • PMS Access
You connect to HCAI through your HCF's existing practice management system (PMS).
  • Data Entry Centre Access
You do not have internet access and connect to HCAI through the Data Entry Centre (DEC).

If you are not sure how your HCF connects to HCAI, click here.
