HCAI Performance Meter
HCAI transactions are being processed well. (If you experience slowdowns when HCAI is in a green state, this may be a result of issues outside of the HCAI system, such as issues with your Internet connection.)

What's New

The HCAI voluntary pilot is coming to a close. Enrolment forms for voluntary enrolment closed on February 3rd. If your health care facility has not yet enrolled, you will be part of the HCAI Full Rollout 2010 process as described below.

What’s Next?

  • The Top 500 facilities are in the process of being notified that they are part of the first group in the HCAI Full Rollout 2010 process
  • Facilities in this group who did not participate in the pilot will enrol as per the HCAI Full Rollout Schedule and be assigned activation dates between April and May 2010
  • March 31, 2010 all insurers will have adopted the use of HCAI
  • The next group of 1500 clinics to adopt HCAI between June and August 2010 will be notified in April 2010

HCAI Full Rollout 2010

Full Rollout will proceed according to an enrolment schedule (HCAI Full Rollout Schedule) that will be published in early March 2010. This list will identify health care facilities based on their volume of HCAI transactions prior to suspension of HCAI in March 2008. The schedule will name the health care facility and address, using the name under which it was previously registered with HCAI, and each business will be assigned an effective date. Your effective date is the date that you will begin using HCAI for the submission of certain Ontario Claim Forms (OCFs 18, 22, 23 and 21) to Ontario automobile insurers.

Prior to a facility’s effective date, OCF form submission should continue to follow the current process of submission directly to insurers. On or after a facility’s effective date, facilities that choose not to enrol with HCAI cannot submit OCF forms to insurers. Alternatively they will need to submit OCFs 18, 22, 23 and 21 to their patients, who will submit them to insurers (as per SABS S.68 (3.2).

Health care facilities will be notified well in advance of their assigned effective date. To learn more about the HCAI Full Rollout Schedule, click here.

Your Old Passwords Do Not Work On the New HCAI

All passwords that were in use prior to July 2009 are now invalidated. In order to access the NEW HCAI system, each health care facility must enroll or re-enroll. To learn more about the HCAI Full Rollout Schedule, go to the Enrolment page
