Spring has finally arrived, which means HCAI’s next system release is just around the corner. This bulletin is a reminder of the enhancements you can look forward to in HCAI System Release 3.35, which goes live on June 29, 2026.
Here’s what you need to know about Release 3.35:
1. Regulatory Reforms Bring Changes to OCFs
As part of the upcoming Ontario Auto Reforms announced by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA), new versions of all OCF forms will be available in HCAI starting July 1, 2026, two days after the release goes live. Updates to forms will include text changes for the first-payor rule, minor legal text changes, and the option to select gender “X”. The form updates can be previewed on FSRA’s website in PDF format.
Health care facilities who use a Practice Management System (PMS) to submit OCFs can rest assured that HCAI has been communicating with vendors and has made available all of the technical changes they need to adopt. We also recommend that you reach out to your software vendor to confirm they are working on the necessary updates.
2. OCF-23 Redevelopment
Updates will be made in HCAI to both the OCF-23 and its Explanation of Benefits, as both are being redeveloped in the new framework. The Forgot Your User Name, Forgot Your Password, and Password/User Name help pages will also be redeveloped in this framework. This will not result in any functional changes to these pages’ workflows, as visible changes are largely cosmetic in nature to allow for a better user experience. Items such as text alignment, spacing, and the consistency of error messages will be improved.
3. Browser Compatibility Updates
As of Release 3.35, HCAI recommends accessing the web application on Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome on Windows 11, and Safari 26 on MacOS Tahoe (Version 26). As of November 2025, Windows 10 is no longer supported for HCAI.
After the release goes live, we recommend restarting your web browser or begin a new browser session and update any old bookmarks. These steps will help ensure continued access to HCAI following the release.
Scheduled System Unavailability
A system unavailability window is scheduled to implement System Release 3.35:
The HCAI system will be unavailable from 5:00 p.m. (ET) on Friday, June 26, 2026, and is expected to resume active status at 8:00 a.m. (ET) on Monday, June 29, 2026.
Facilities must have their transactions successfully processed by 4:59 p.m. (ET) Friday, June 26, 2026.

Attendant Care Services Invoice Available in HCAI
A reminder that as of May 12, 2025, the Attendant Care Services Invoice (ACSI) is available for healthcare facilities to submit to auto insurers in HCAI.
