HCAI System Release 3.34 is scheduled to go live on November 3, 2025. This bulletin provides an overview of the enhancements included in this release.
Here’s what you need to know about Release 3.34:
1. New Angular Framework for the OCF-18 and its Explanation of Benefits
HCAI is enhancing the OCF-18 and its Explanation of Benefits (EOB) by redeveloping them in a new framework as was done with other forms processed in HCAI.
There will be no functional changes to the forms' workflow. The visible changes are largely cosmetic in nature to make for a more efficient user experience, and improve things like text alignment, spacing, and the consistency of error messages.
Insurers who believe they may be impacted by the internal framework redevelopment can test the OCF-18 and EOB when the test environment becomes available.
Please note, during release development, further internal changes may be applied to any OCF for consistency and other purposes which would not impact web users’ experience. The test environment is available prior to the release going live for any required testing.
2. Updated Browser Compatibility
HCAI continues to enhance its user experience and security. Using an up-to-date browser is vital to maintain an uninterrupted connection to HCAI.
For the best user experience, access HCAI on a secure, up-to-date web browser. As of Release 3.34, we recommend using Chromium-based Microsoft Edge, Chrome or Firefox on Windows 11, or Safari 17 on MacOS Sonoma (Version 14.0).
Windows 10 is no longer tested or supported for HCAI as of Release 3.34.
3. New Flag in Insurer Management
Building on the new Adjudication via integration functionality delivered in Release 3.33, a new flag will be added on the Insurer management screen to indicate the use of the “Adjudication via integration” functionality for integrating insurers. This flag will be set once insurers have submitted their revised Integration Settings Change Form.
4. Enhanced Security
HCAI is continuously enhancing security and privacy. Several backend changes are included in this release to improve security.

Information for Integrating Insurers
Release 3.34 does not impact integration; there are no integration changes included in this release. The schemas delivered as part of the previous release, R3.33, remain the most current. We strongly recommend conducting regression testing on your systems during the official testing period to ensure a seamless transition when HCAI Release 3.34 goes live in production.
Here are the key dates related to integration for Release 3.34. We will provide details about the test environment closer to the start of the official testing phase:
The official testing period will be from August 25, 2025, to September 26, 2025.
A Q&A teleconference to address any questions from technical teams will be hosted on September 11, 2025.
Reminder: Data Deletion
This is a reminder that data deletion functionality was implemented earlier this year. Claim-claimant records and their associated documents become eligible for deletion from HCAI seven years after claim-claimants have been deactivated by the insurer. This year, the actual deletion of data will begin in September 2025. HCAI will remove eligible records and documents for claims created up to and including 2010.
Regarding the upcoming data deletion activity, please be aware that the HCAI test environment, which reflects the production environment and is used by integrating insurers during testing, will also undergo data deletion starting at the end of the year. It will proceed in accordance with the business rules set for production.
