With warmer weather on the horizon, we’d like to remind you of an important date that is quickly approaching: HCAI System Release 3.35 goes live on June 29, 2026. This release will deliver key updates to support Ontario auto insurance reforms, strengthen system security, and advance HCAI’s operational maturity. Integrating Insurers should be aware that Release 3.35 includes mandatory, integration‑impacting changes.
This bulletin highlights what you can look forward to in Release 3.35.
OCF updates as a result of Ontario Auto Reforms
As part of the upcoming Ontario Auto Reforms announced by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA), new versions of all OCFs will be made available in HCAI on July 1, 2026. To preview the forms in PDF format, visit FSRA’s website.
What’s changing?
Gender X is being added as an option – not only on all OCFs, but also on all other relevant areas across the HCAI application, integration feeds, and extracts.
First-payor rule text updates will be applied to all OCFs. However, the Other Insurer section will remain available to support multi-payor scenarios.
FSCO references still visible on the PDF versions of OCFs will be updated to FSRA.
Minor legal text changes will be included for consistency and clarity.
These changes have impact for integrating insurers and HCAI has been engaging with integration teams to help them prepare. For further details see Important Information for Integrating Insurers, below.
OCF-23 and EOB redevelopments
HCAI is enhancing the OCF-23 and its associated Explanation of Benefits (EOB) by redeveloping them within a new internal framework. This aligns with the recent redevelopment of other forms in HCAI. The Forgot Your User Name, Forgot Your Password, and Password/Username Help pages accessible from the login screen will be similarly redeveloped.
There are no functional changes to these pages’ workflow. Visible updates are primarily cosmetic and are intended to improve usability, including text alignment, spacing, and consistency of error messages.
During release development, additional internal changes may be applied to OCFs for consistency or operational purposes which are not expected to impact the web user experience. Insurers who believe they may be impacted by the internal framework redevelopment have the opportunity to test the affected pages in the test environment
Security enhancements
HCAI continues to strengthen security and privacy protections. Release 3.35 includes several backend changes designed to enhance system security
Browser compatibility updates
For the best user experience, access HCAI using a secure, up-to-date web browser. As of Release 3.35, the recommended browsers are Chromium-based Microsoft Edge, Chrome, or Firefox on Windows 11, or Safari 26 on macOS Tahoe (Version 26).
After the release goes live, restart your web browser and update any old bookmarks. These steps will help ensure continued access to HCAI following the release.
